This is my first of the series of articles that features Davao and Samal Island’s beaches. Isla Reta is a small but cozy resort in Talicud Island, one of the islands in Samal or known officially as IGACOS. Like the rest of other beaches in Samal, Isla Reta also has fine white sand beach and a crystal clear blue water.Weekend makes beaches in Samal too crowded, so its best to go a little farther going to Talicud Island. From Davao City, you can take a bangka ride (motorized boat) and travel 30 minutes to reach Isla Reta. Since its far from Metro Davao, its an ideal place to escape from the buzzle of the city.
This is a nice video from youtube.com featuring a group of young people enjoying themselves in Isla Reta. By the way, in case you don’t know the word “ambak” or “ambakanay“, it means jump.
