Our very own Mayor Rodrigo Duterte went to Nanning City, China for a meeting with Chinese leaders and businessmen last October 20. This is in fulfillment related to the friendship pact signed between two cities last September 4, 2007 in Davao. The two mayors were discussing important matters which will benefit Davao and Nanning specifically on economic development.

Davao’s Duterte and Nanning’s Xiangqun signed economic agreement between the two cities during a meeting in Nanning, China. Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s trip to Nanning was a complete success bringing more investors to Davao City.
Mayor Rodrigo Duterte arrived from Nanning just few days ago and he said that he brought lots of good news for Davao. Chinese investors are keen on putting up investments for Davao City and there are lots of them who are coming. Very nice development indeed, so I am expecting more to come from Nanning City.

Last September 4 at Marco Polo Hotel Davao, Chen Xiangqun the mayor of Nanning City in China signed the Davao-Nanning friendship pact together with Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. Duterte is scheduled to visit Nanning City this October 20 in a mission of seeking possible investments for Davao.
Nanning City is a rich city in China and their possible investments to Davao could propel economic growth to this land of durian. That was a very nice feat coming from our local gevernment to establish such diplomatic relationship. Nanning’s wealth can buy anything that Davao could offer as this Chinese city got plenty of money to spend. As of now, the two cities are trying to study possible business partnership that is suited for each city’s best interest. Nanning is eyeing on possible investment in mining industry but there could be more investments other than mining that this Chinese city can put their money upon.
Hmmmm….. That good news is great for Davao City because with the initial establishment of partnership alone I am expecting BIG BIG BIG progress in the very near future. Good luck to us and Nanning City, China!

im just curious considering that Nanning and Davao City are now sister cities why is it that there are no International flights serving Davao-Nanning (vice-versa)?
The purpose of sister pact is to promote investment between the two cities and how can we promote our products if there are no internaitonal flights serving Davao-Nanning?
Davao City have 6 international sister cities (Tacoma, USA, Keelung, Taiwan, Manado and Bitung, Indonesia, Nanning China and Koror, Palau, this cities “SHOULD” have direct international flights. Sister pact would be useless if there are no investment(s) coming-in in the city.
I definitely agree..but of course their investment, i think, is dependent on the capacity of mindanao region to create demands..investment is directly proportional to its demand-and the purchasing power of our people here in mindanao…
