Bankerohan’s Ukay Ukay

06Aug07

The biggest public market in Davao City is the Bankerohan public market dubbed as the “landmark” of the city. It’s the main trading post of goods e.g. fish, vegetables, meat etc. and  sold cheap so you could save a lot when you go shopping there.

What I like in Bankerohan is to shop for ukay ukay clothings. I bought nice pants there for only 75 pesos. If the quality is really good and it has a famous brand like Dockers it would cost maybe 100 pesos. The pants looks brand new (like it was never been used before kind of brand new). It really saved me a lot of money. Imagine how much would pants costs when you buy to an air conditioned malls, 600 to 1500 pesos perhaps. The low-down is you have to be there as early as 4:00 a.m. to have a good buy but its worth it.

Where do all this clothings come from? These merchants in Bankerohan, I was tempted to ask who supplies all those stuff. But, whatever wherever those ukay ukay really helps in providing me cheap clothes. I’m going to shop there again this saturday.
