Almost one year ago, I don’t really know the exact date, there were reports in the local tv news about students in Ma-a National High School doing pot sessions. A month later, one of my students got shot one midnight in NHA Ma-a. A bullet put a hole on his head and he died almost instantly. Most residents believe it was the work of the DDS (Davao Death Squad). Days later, we were assisting students believed to be in DDS’ hitlist to flee for safety. There were 4 or 5 of them I think.
After the incident, students are more aware about the danger of taking drugs. The danger I am talking about is to become the target of the DDS. The funny thing though is that NHA Ma-a, the place where it happened, still got plenty of people walking around the blocks or in sari sari store for a midnight drinking spree. People know they are safe when you’re not a criminal.
Those people end up dead, is it necessary? I feel so much safer everywhere I go in Davao because I know there are less criminals. Criminals are already dead. I don’t know but I don’t want drug addicts roaming the streets. I don’t want killings too. The best thing is if you are a criminal, just stay away from Davao City because its unsafe for you and if leaving is not an option, then I suggest you abide the law, get an education and find a decent job. Davao City is booming so its really not that difficult.

Davao City: A Promise Fulfilled 
“I live in a city controlled by fear.” – Words from Clarita, the mother of three DDS victims. I don’t want to be harsh but I believe that the mother is to be blamed. For criminals, yes Davao is a city controlled by fear. And they should be weary if they are in Davao. But Davao is heaven for those who are law abiders and upright.
I blamed the mother and the parents of these killed criminals because of their irresponsibility towards their kids. How can one claim of a good parenthood if their kids are out in the streets selling drugs or doing petty crimes? These parents knew about it, yet they have done nothing to fix it?
I also find the report as a one sided view. It literally gave sympathy towards the CRIMINALS’ side. How about the average citizens who have been victims of these criminals? The human rights are so active protecting the rights of these criminals, but why havent they done something towards the common and upright citizens of Davao? Where are the human right activist when someone is stabbed or robbed in Davao? Why are they mum about these issues but loud when it comes to criminals?
I always believe in the phrase ” YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE”. Those dead people are criminals, drug pushers, and were menace to the society. Through their ways, they have been attracting death long ago. They get what they deserve. Amd to the other criminals – YOU WILL REAP WHAT YOU SOW!

By the way, i find it irritating when these americans do a documentary about Davao or any other cities in the country. They keep on showing a squatter’s area scene…Hey americans, Davao is not all like that! We are a progressive city far from what these guys are projecting!

Sa panahon natin ngayon,marami talagang mga kabataan ngayon ang nalulung na sa masamang bisyo.Hindi sana ito mangyayari kung ang mga magulang ay nag-susubay-bay sa kanilang mga anak, kahit nga sa eskwela.Bilang estudyante,ang opinyon ko tungkol sa artikolong ito ay,sana mabigyan ito ng paraan na ma-isolba ng mga nasa pamahalaan ang problemang ito.At gawin sa tamang paraan…..
Your exactly right sir!!…davao death squad is now roaming around davao city…so we should be careful..many people of today’s generation is very addict in that kind of drugs…but that is not the right way of punishing CRIMINALS.there is justice who can make a way…these children lack’s of parental guidance by their parents that’s why they were involved in this kind of activity and immaturity…….My advice to the teenagers you can do whatever you want except in this kind of activity……….you can still enjoy your life without drugs………
i think there are so many ways of punishing some criminals. and i dont consider killing as one of those. they should be punished according to the sins they committed. i also think that the parents lacks the guidance, discipline and the education to their children. thus, many teenagers are involved in some anti social activities which leads them to the wrong way of life. …….. so my advice to those teenagers who were engaged to those activities .. you still have the chance to change your self just trust in god !!!!!……….

I agree for what you have said, because if you are a criminal, it is good for you na mag palayo sa Davao City. Because if you are a criminal you are unsafe here in Davao City because of the DDS (Davao Death Squad).

It is true that because of the killings our city bacame safe but it also causrd the loss of hopes and life of youth. Those youth had alot of time to change and correct their mistakes but because of thr killings, try lost their future. Those youth could have been the hope of our country, if they were able to change.

yeah sir your right.. Many teenagers now are taking drugs. Some say because of curiousity about it. Thats why many lives of teenagers had been destroyed. For me sir, we should not try those things because it cant help us. Specially if you lived here in davao city, you should be careful because as you said sir ther are DDS here that are killing those drug addicts. Whether they are teenagers or not, no exemptoin as long as your a drug addict, or a criminal.So, even if we are not doimg those such thing, but still we should be careful. Tsaka sir dapat noh hindi sila pumapaty ng tao because god knows what the right thing to do to them.. hehehehehe chaka keu,

The article you had made sir!tells about”USING DRUGS”and this kind of situation is not easy to face.We all know that some of our youth is taking a drug.Taking drugs is not a problem because it can cure are sickness but this drugs,they use it in a wrong way so this is not good to our mental, emotional,physical and etc. health.I think some of the drug users thinking about also themselves to make their lives good and innocent.But it is in the people to make their lives good or beautiful.

IMO! Those drug users really need to be killed! Why? because they are some kind of freak or Virus! And most of all they KILL (inosent) people! thats why Duterte! had hired a killer of drug users! and they are called (DDS) they are the Davao Death Squad! wiw they are really something! and the most interesting part is that they are just practicing in the High Way of NHA MAA… thats why i dont wanna sniff some drugs! because! they Will burry me ALIVE IN THE CEMETERY!!!! …i dont know why are so many students killed because of drugs..That group called DDS they are so very dangerous in many teenagers that taking drugs…..but DDS kill a man if it is taking drugs such as shabu,marijuana&rugby…i sugggest sir that i will be concentrating in my study………….NO TO DRUGS YES TO SPORTS…
