New Visitor’s Lounge For The Eagle Park
DOT Secretary Ace Durana is here in Davao City attending the 2nd Mindanao Travel and Tour Exposition (MTTE) at SM Davao, Ecoland. His speech looks promising saying stuff like we will never stop in promoting Davao City until it becomes one of the top international destination blah blah blah all that generic speech bul–hit that comes out to every….. oops ok never mind.
Well here is the part that caught my attention, he just promised during that expo that the eagle park will be having a new lounge for its visitors. Designed by Francis Hidalgo, the new lounge is describe to be modern and close to nature. DOT promised P5 million for that project and construction will start this September.
The new lounge will surely help in attracting visitors going to the park.
And now, how is our beloved Pag-asa these days? Well Pag-asa celebrated his 15th birthday last January 15 and this handsome teenage eagle is still alive and spreading his wings. You can visit him and his fellow eagles at The Eagle Park in Malagos, Calinan. The eagle breeding program already succeeded in producing 20 eagles all in all since 1992.
15 year old Pag-asa is a symbol of hope for the ongoing fight in saving this endangered species. Even up to this day, the Philippine eagles are still being killed by pouchers in the wilds. The local government are struggling to end all those careless killings of this majestic bird.
