Malls Of Davao: Victoria Plaza (Exterior)
The pioneer of shopping malls in Davao City is no other than Victoria Plaza in Bajada.
In the early 90’s, Victoria Plaza became the first mall in Davao City. I remember how people got so excited on the opening day and went their to experience for the first time what its like being in a mall. It also triggered the beginning of construction boom in the city that totally changed Davao’s skyline. The economic boom positioned the city as the most urbanized in Mindanao.
At present, it is heartening to know that the mall looks deteriorating. Yesterday, as I went there, I saw the mall totally changed from classy to cheapish. It badly needs repainting, refurbishing, marketing en al to regain its former glory.

The mall is a historical landmark in Davao, although its pretty old,people still frequent the mall as it is very spacious,the department store Victoria amazinglly has various items with very reasonable prices to cater to different class group, one time an old uncle of mine ask me to look for his favorite pomade because he cant find it anywhere, to my surprise i not only found the pomade but also other items my uncle mentioned to me,whether it be getting an NBI clearance to banks,payment of water,electric bills in other words a one stop shop for paying your monthly bills,The supermarket Park nShop is also doing well, as customers usual comment is its convenience,and complete lines of food items and parking space is no problem,up to now it is said nobody has ever went there and went home because of no availabilty of parking space.it is also as i remembered clearly the first mall to have Midnight sales since then all other malls have followed, and if you want different choices of good restaurants you can find it at the mall outside vicinity,and again parking is a very very no problem!

I frequent Victoria Plaza Mall, except for the department store. My gosh! Can someone teach those rude salespersons some manners. They follow you around like sniff dogs when you are shopping for clothes or even textiles, not to assist you but to fold back the items while you are still checking them out. I am not generalizing the staff. But I honestly think they do not care about good customer service anymore, unlike NCCC and SM.
Try shopping out there to see for yourself. Do not dressed to the nines (and you better be not a White foreigner) to find out the real score.

I love that mall coz I used to watched it while they build it …we just live a few blocks from victoria Plaza mall .Sinced they opened…my entire time for whole day I used to spent inside that mall to worked as a sales agent while my son was in the kindergarten school building near the mall…take note I meet my husband inside that mall and now me and my children live here in AMERICA…I really missed that mall ,my stepping stone to my destiny…..I missed you Davao City.
